Journal "Titan" has been published since April 1993.The founder is Interstate Association Titan.The main content of the journal - the scientific articles, scientific reviews, materials of information character, materials devoted to events and anniversaries.
The journal publishes the results of research and development in the field of extraction and processing of titanium raw materials; materials science and metallurgy of titanium and titanium alloys; technologies and equipment for producing and processing titanium, semi-finished products and products; the application of titanium and its alloys in various areas of equipment; questions of quality titanium products; organization and economies of titanium production; the titanium market.
The journal is intended for a wide circle of scientists and specialists, whose professional activity is connected with materials science, production, processing and application of titanium and its alloys on his basis, and also heads of the enterprises, engineers, technologists, researchers, graduate students and students of technical universities.
Journal "Titan" is the reviewed edition.

Since 2010 the journal "Titan" is included into "The List of leading reviewed scientific magazines and editions in which the main scientific results of theses on competition of an academic degree of the doctor and candidate of science ", approved by the Highest attestation commission of the Russian Federation.
Since 2009 the journal is included in the database "Russian Science Citation Index" (RSCI), placed on the platform of Scientific electronic library. Five-year impact factor of the journal (2014) 0,352; place in rating SCIENCE INDEX (2013) in the category "Metallurgy" ‒ 20.

Requirements of articles provision to “Titan” journal“Titan” Journal editorial staff applies to authors for following rules stated below when sending articles for printing.
For articles publication the following is to be provided
- Expert advice on possibility of publication in public printing is to be witnessed by the stamp of organization the expertise has been carried out in.
- Information about the author the editorial staff can be in contact with: surname, first name and patronymic (in full), address and (or) telephone number, e-mail address (can be provided on-line).
- The article (in Microsoft Word file).
- Initial figures (in separate bit-mapped graphics files).
Article. Text of the article is to be structured as follows:
- UDC;
- Article name in Russian;
- Article name in English;
- Reference to financial support (if needed);
- Initials and surnames of the authors in Russian;
- Initials and surnames of the authors in English (transliteration);
- Place of employment of the every author;
- E-mail of the every author;
- Abstract of the article in Russian (less than 500 characters);
- Abstract of the article in English (less than 500 characters);
- Keywords in Russian (5-6 words and/or word combinations);
- Keywords in English (5-6 words and/or word combinations);
- Text of the article including figures and tables;
- Referenced literature (to be drawn up according to the effective State Standard).
Requirements to materials being sent to editorial staff
Text of the article is to be typed in Microsoft Word text editor in A4 paper size (210´297 mm) with the left side margins width of 25 – 30 mm preferably by Times New Roman type; size of the type is to be 14 units; line-spacing equals 1.5 units; justified alignment of the text. Word hyphenation is not allowed as well as text alignment by the use of space; the text should not contain “line feed” characters in the end of the lines. Headers and footers are not allowed. References in round brackets are given for every figure and table; references in square brackets are given for a number of every literature source.
Every figure and every table should have number and name.
Referenced literature is to be made up according to the effective State Standard. Numeration of referenced literature is given according to the order of their mention in the text. Unpublished papers are not included in the reference list.
Abbreviations in the text, tables, figures and captions to them are not allowed (except for conventional abbreviations). It is recommended to give dimension of physical quantity in the International System of Units (SI system).
Illustrations provided in separate files of bit-mapped graphics (TIFF, JPEG, etc.) should possess resolution of more than 300 dpi at 1:1 scale. Images of the structures should contain scale in the right lower corner (“micron-marker”, not magnification).
Payment for publication of the articles is not collected from post-graduate students and other authors.
Editorial staff reserves the right to carry out textual amendment of a manuscript. Proofs are not sent to the authors for reviewing. Non-observance of the requirements leads to delay of publication or rejection of the article.
Sequence of reviewing manuscripts provided to editorial staff of “Titan” journal
1 - Authors submit materials made according to requirements of article provision to “Titan” Journal.
2 - Every article received by editorial staff is subjected to independent reviewing.
3 - Received manuscripts are registered and pre-examined by editorial staff on compliance with the general requirements of the Journal.
4 - After preexamination the manuscript of the article is sent during 5 days to a reviewer (reviewers are not informed about persons of the authors and vice-versa). Editorial staff involves members of editorial council, editorial board and also external experts (candidates and doctors of sciences and/or specialists of the corresponding sphere) as reviewers.
5 - Reviewers are informed that the received manuscripts are an intellectual property of the authors and related to confidential information. Reviewers are not allowed to copy the articles for own purposes.
6 - Reviewing is carried out confidentially.
6.1 - The manuscript is sent to a reviewer without name, occupation, and workplace of the author.
6.2 - The author receives a review on written demand without signature, name, occupation, and workplace of the reviewer.
6.3 - A review can be sent on corresponding demand to the expert councils of the Higher Certification Commission of the Russian Federation.
7 - Reviewing of the article is carried out for two weeks. The article is to be examined by a reviewer during 15 days and the opinion should be made as a review (1-2 pages).
8 - A review should contain an appraisal of:
- compliance of the article subject matter with the areas of the Journal;
- actuality of the subject;
- scientific and practical value of the article;
- novelty and information value of the article;
- validity of the stated conclusions;
- correctness of the reference literature.
In the concluding clauses of a review a clear recommendation should be given on the possibility of article publication. A reviewer gives one of the following conclusions:
- to publish work;
- to publish work after improvement;
- to reject work as unsuitable for publication (with the reasons of refusal).
9 - The authors of rejected articles receive a motivated refusal during 10 days from the date of negative review issue. The editorial staff does not enter debates and correspondence with the authors on the rejected articles.
10 - In particular cases the editorial staff reserves the right to admit work for publication or send it to the other reviewer.
11 - If a reviewer recommends “to publish work after improvement”, there should be remarks being essential from his/her point of view, and remarks considered as advice.
12 - Improved article is to be sent to the editorial staff within stated term. Initial and improved variants are sent to a reviewer for negotiation; a reviewer gives a conclusion on possibility of publication of improved variant.
13 - A positive review is not enough condition for publication of the article. Decision on reasonability of publication after reviewing is made by the editorial board and brought to authors’ notice.
14 - Maximum term of reviewing is 1 month from delivery date to decision date.
15 - Payment for reviewing of the articles is not collected from the authors.
16 - Original reviews are kept in the editorial staff for 5 years.
17 - The following is not reviewed:
- materials published for advertising;
- materials published in “Events and anniversaries” section.
